Magredi Route – Stage 2 – from San Quirino to Maniago

Passing the cultivated fields and a series of country roads, you will cross the Cellina stream. You will notice that its wide, gravelly bed is almost always dry, but this is only an illusion, as the water flows from the Alps, hidden under the pebbles, and brings life to the plain.
You can easily ford by the village of San Leonardo Valcellina, to continue to the foot of the mountains, what we call the Pedemontana, a strip made of the hills and the Carnic Prealps that border the plain.

Here you will find the hamlet of Maniago Libero, with its houses and courtyards, peaceful and suspended in time, before arriving in the centre of Maniago, known as the ‘city of knives’ because of its traditional knife-making industry.
