Val Meduna Route – Stage 2 – Detour to the emerald pools

A short but intense walk will bring you face to face with one of this valley’s treasures.

First, you’ll come across the village of Tramonti di Sopra, with traces of its history – which, after all, isn’t that distant – from an era of harmony between humankind and nature. Once you’ve left the last houses behind, you’ll immediately enter the woodland; as you climb gently, you’ll almost feel as though you’re in a canyon, where you’re invited to contemplate the emerald-coloured waters of the Meduna stream, which stand out against the white limestone rocks enclosed in this narrow valley.

These emerald pools are an accessible and free natural spectacle that stand out against the landscape all year round; however, it is advisable to avoid summer weekends.
