The “RIVECOLDEFER” winery was born in the early 1980s, in an enchanted place, rich in history and placed in the center of a unique area, immersed in a more than special microclimate that only a small part of Caneva possesses, in a sun-kissed piedmont.
In fact, the winery is located in the heart of this municipality, in what was probably the Roman “Castrum” differently then transformed over time, but of which there are still clear vestiges that are now a historical component part of the winery itself.
Cultivating the 11 hectares planted with vines in the hills is a clear profession for the family, which is a source of pride. Alessia and her husband Lino run the farm with the love and passion of those who are in love with their work. A passion that starts from the careful, almost maniacal cultivation of the vines, and then exalts itself in the care of the vineyards, in the careful pruning that leaves only one shoot to the plant, in not using herbicide products, in thinning the bunches during ripening and in harvesting exclusively by hand, leading to a unique product, which is exalted in the three red wines Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Refosco dal P.R. of great class, with an absolutely unique bouquet, and in the four whites, Malvasia, Prosecco, Manzoni, among which, an absolutely important note goes to “Verdiso,” an almost disappeared native wine in which the owners strongly believe.
