From Forchia di Meduno, a 450-metre climb takes you through woods rich in colour and charm, particularly in late spring and autumn.

Once you reach the summit, you’ll immediately spot the ‘launch pad’ for hang-gliders and paragliders, with people coming here from neighbouring Austria – and beyond – to take advantage of the unique updrafts. Whilst you enjoy the spectacle of those soaring and gliding through the air, the Friulian plain stretches out below you, with the riverbeds of the Meduna and Tagliamento, and an unobstructed horizon stretching as far as the Gulf of Trieste and beyond.
