Val Meduna Route – Stage 1 – from Meduno to Tramonti di Sopra

A picturesque route through the countryside of the Val Meduna follows the course of the Chiarzò stream, offering a pleasant walk through woodland and tranquillity. The route begins in Meduno, the gateway to the Val Meduna, from where an old road sets off – one of the many links that once connected hamlets which are now sparsely populated but were once bustling with life and activity. It is a mountain walk, through woods and silence, best enjoyed in late spring when the greenery is so intense that these places resemble a primeval forest, or in early autumn when the trees turn golden and red. The route passes through the village of Tramonti di Sotto before reaching Tramonti di Sopra, taking in spots of peace and contemplation.
